A Hard Rain Falling - detail

This is a detail from an unfinished painting in the series "Eve Of Destruction".
Painted in mixed media on canvas, 80 x 80. Thoughts in my head, borders, despair, rain and cold. Cold people, cold ground. Will there be any warm winds and light again?

Eve Of Destruction

The "Eve Of Destruction" will be my next Exhibition project.
After my "The Sun And Beyond" exhibition, I feel it is time to hit the earth and capture the scenery on our planet just now. The only place where we for the time being can breath and live. It doesn't matter how many excursions out in space we humans use our resources on. No matter how loaded we are with money and power we are helplessly in bonding with our environment on earth.

When I grew up I heard that "Time was 5 to twelve". That was, I believe, mostly because of the cold war and the atomic bomb. Now, time must be a minute or some seconds to twelve. Power games, hatred and greed releases numerous wars, chemical destructions, genetic manipulations. Our  fauna, which we are a part of is experiencing defaunation and destructive climate changes.
Until mankind get rich and gain power by saving the climate nothing will lead us safely out of this. Am I negative? Yes, but I am sensing a new trend......

Bildene males i høyt tempo.

From The Vienna Exhibition

We all want to express our selves and to be understood and accepted, but important to me is to illustrate my believes and feelings through my paintings. The humble gratitude I feel when I meet people who "walks into my paintings" and want to stay there is the ultimate reward for my works.

The main story to me is to show that we belong where we are and that we are a part of nature and that the nature we can see, smell, feel and listen to, is a part of a vast universe. Every painting starts out with an idea from an experience and, or photos from that same experiene. Under way and in time, an abstraction is born and in between forms and colors our fantasy gets triggered by details that suggests or shows nature-like shapes. Of course that is not only happening for me, but I love to be in that process wether the resulting painting is "understood" or not. The process is the journey and that is why I say: "To enjoy a moment in front of the easel is an art in itself."

The title of my exhibition in Vienna had then to be: "The Sun And Beyond"
A little journey through the universe, landing on earth with some weird creatures that maybe would be a result from humans on earth.

"Sunrays Through The Bottom", "Evil Eye", "Phenix"

"The Long Journey" , "Peaceful Dreams", "Behind The Scenes", "Dark Lily"

"Hide And Seek"

"The Explosion" and "Cyclone"

My next exhibition is in last week of June in Lillesand from my own place, Studio Xpremental when Lillesand has their yearly Festival week called "Lillesands da'ene"

I'm honoured to tell that I'm being awarded The "Sandro Botticelli Prize" of 2015. It  was a fantastic experience . For us from the north to receive it in Florence in addition, we have the settings of a fairytale.
This is an inspiration that will follow me on my path into the future and I'm therefore very thankful to  the curators Francesco Saverio Russo and Salvatore Russo who have found me worthy.
There is also fantastic that two of my good friends, Gerlinde Streit and Monica Coahla Schancke Flakk, also got the prize together with me.
